ALL GODS ARE BORN

RULES

--- i am an independent roleplayer of the bleach community. all icons & threads are mine. if you are a personal and you reblog any of my threads or meta, then i will instantly hardblock you. there will be no negotiations upon that front.--- aizen sousuke is the greater scope villain of bleach. he is an extremely dangerous individual. do not underestimate him. i will write him according to how i feel his power has scaled. by and large, most characters will stand no chance in a fight against him. there are a few exceptions to this rule, but please understand that aizen is powerful. i will not pull punches on him or his power for your sake.--- i tag triggering content such as blood, gore, and body horror and will often ensure such things are beneath a read more depending upon the context. any of these subjects will have a cw tag upon them. blacklist as you wish. on those rare times i write anything sexual on the dash, these too will likely be placed beneath read mores.--- i am most comfortable with writers who are 21+ and older. i will likely softblock you if you are a minor and you follow me. i am very uncomfortable with minors following me.--- if you wish to break mutuals, please hardblock me. i'm an idiot and tumblr is known to be glitchy so i may think it might have unfollowed you for me. i promise i'll get the message!--- ironic as it is to say, do not godmode me. aizen is a very secretive man and if you try to bring in knowledge which i have not discussed your muse knowing prior, i will drop any roleplay with you. do not try to, either, force your vision of aizen upon me.

--- shipping is unlikely to occur with aizen. it is not impossible, but one must remember that he is a very complicated and nuanced person. he does not easily allow others close and any ship will take tremendous work from the other party. not only that, but if anyone wants to ship with aizen, they will have to accept that ichimaru gin not only eclipses but predominates a generous portion of aizen's world view.--- i am ship-exclusive and outright exclusive with @godkilller. aizen and gin's dynamic is, for the sake of simplicity, complicated. it is dubbed a ship for the sake of paring it down to a comprehensible level. i will not write nor interact with any other gin. sorry, but cas's gin is too intrinsic to my aizen for me to ever explore them with anyone else. we've been doing this for ten years, after all!--- aizen also has a complicated relationship with hirako shinji. i am not exclusive with shinji, however. i welcome all kinds of interactions between him and aizen and there have been a few things i have been hankering to try out.--- i will not write anything in a romantic nor sexual context with a minor-aged character. do not try to press shipping onto me if your character is underage.

--- i am not truly bothered by duplicates but there are headcanons which are exclusive to my aizen. should i ever see another aizen writer using what are mine, then i will hardblock.--- due to the fact that aizen is such a powerhouse, i am often reticent about having a fight thread despite being welcome to writing violence and blood and gore. you must be aware that there is a very good chance aizen will win in any fight because he's not only so powerful, he also cheats. i do not shy back, either, from the fact that he can and will possibly kill your muse. if this bothers you, then please discuss it with me.--- all headcanons & meta are my own. i am welcome to discussing characters and their relationships to aizen and i will gladly tweak things, if i see fit to do so, to better fit into a dynamic with aizen and another character.

--- i do not tend to do crossovers if i don't know the other canon. i'm sorry, but this is just personal preference on my own behalf. i feel uncomfortable if i don't know the canon or the lore so i may not follow back. however, if i see a possibility of aizen and your character being able to interact, then i shall gladly do so!--- due to the fact that aizen is a shinigami, he is unable to be perceived by most mortals. if your character has extrasensory perception when it comes to spirits and more, then chances are they may be able to see him.--- i am highly picky with following original characters back. if your character is tied to aizen in any way romantically or through familial ties, i will not follow you back. that is an extremely hard no on my behalf. thank you for understanding that.

HISTORY

the man known as aizen sousuke was not always how he once was.over two centuries before the defection, the winter war, the day of Deicide, he was born to aizen naoko who was a worker in a brothel in an Eightieth District in the east of the Rukongai. the pregnancy had not been planned for by his mother and yet she chose to keep it. she was a woman who had had the capability to become a shinigami, naoko, and that alone helped benefit her during the course of her pregnancy. the reiatsu of her unborn son ate away at her, heavy and dense as it was, and left her health permanently in ruin by the time of his birth. but she loved him as soon as she looked into his eyes, loved him before then, and loved him up until the day she finally passed away. unbeknownst to both mother and son, his reiatsu was withering at her health and the strain of carrying him was, for lack of a better phrasing, akin to cancer. the density of his power lingered, like cancer, and she slowly faded away.aizen was roughly the equivalent of a five or six year old child when naoko finally passed away. they had lived together in a small hut near the brothel and his mother had earned enough money to begin teaching him his letters, to keep them both clothed and fed, and to pay a tithe of rent to the man who owned the brothel. he was an earnest young boy, back then, and did what he could to help his mother out, trying to tend to their rudimentary garden and it was not uncommon of him to find things such as animals which needed assistance and bring them home where both he and his mother could care for them until they were able to be freed and survive.yet, the weight of aizen's power wore his mother away until she finally passed away in her sleep one night. he woke to find her gone and made a point of neatening her up before finally going to speak to one of the women at the brothel of what had happened, those large dark eyes of his full of a quiet sort of distress in those hours. there was, initially, talk of keeping him and raising him but the brothel owner refused and chose to throw aizen out to survive or die on his own in the rulongai. the fact that naoko had not only survived in an eightieth district but also brought a pregnancy to term had not mattered to him. the boy was unsettling to be around and so he chose to turn aizen out upon the wilds. into a true hellhole where rape and murder were but everyday occurrences and only the lucky and skilled survived.with no one to care for him, aizen sousuke very quickly became a feral child, moving through the district to scavenge for food and to find whatever safe refuges he could in order to sleep for a few nights. no place could truly be called his own and he slept in trees more than once to ensure he would remain safe but the true horror did not happen until perhaps a year or a year and a half in the wake of his mother's passing. it was at that point in time where aizen first encountered a Hollow. it was not a powerful one, more feral beast than intelligent creature, but it had sniffed him out and had chosen to hunt him. he does not remember how he killed it, but that encounter seemed to trigger something. in his moments of panic and fear, aizen's power flared with his screaming at this monster and he quite simply crushed it beneath the weight of his power. the power saved his life -- but it also put him into danger from that point onwards for he had unknowingly lit a candle in the nature of beacons.and he had become beacon to hollows.from that point onwards, aizen very seldom could find any place to stay for long as these monsters hunted him for his power, drawn in as they were to powerful souls and his was truly tremendously powerful indeed. aizen had unknowingly awoken his own power with that encounter when it had just been a nascent thing before which wore his mother down as they slept and now he bled power without knowing how to control it. weaker spirits would quite often drop dead around him and aizen could strip the bodies of their possessions and more. and he could, too, feel something tugging him inwards towards the center of the Rukongai. so he started to follow it, slowly spiraling inwards towards that vague sense of something out there which seemed to call to him and working on evading the hollows as best as he could. he learned, during those few years of his travels, to stay away from people.he had, from time to time, been welcomed in by other souls who would see a child ( a child who could become feral, a child with a rough mouth and a snappish temper, a child who had used bone and stone, rock and wood, his own small hands and teeth to kill, to maim, to get away from those that tried to hurt others and hurt him too when he wanted to help. ) and feed him for a day or two, give him a safe place to sleep. more than once, this happened, and aizen might be allowed a week or even a month of feeling like he had finally begun to belong with others and the hollows would show up again. more than once, aizen saw people who took him in perish, eaten, destroyed because of him. he was a highly intelligent child and he knew, ever and always, that he was the common factor.so, the answer was simple: to protect people, to care for them, he must isolate himself.it had been perhaps three years, perhaps four, for he did not know how to count things beyond the passing of winters and his memory as a boy was hazy, when he had his first true encounter with a shinigami and it was by sheer chance. by sheer chance, that shinigami saved his life, unknowing of how that one act of casual mercy would come to impact both of their lives when all was said and done. perhaps it was fate. perhaps it was chance. perhaps it was something else entirely. aizen could not say, not even decades later, which of those reasons it might have been.he had been on the run for a week when this chance encounter occurred, barely given time to sleep or eat, from a hollow that was choosing to be quite persistent in its pursuit of him. a week of not eating very much and barely getting enough sleep due to needing to survive had worn him down and aizen finally collapsed, managing to get out a singular scream of defiance at this hollow even as he knew at that point that he was going to die. he had seen how hollows ate people before that point and he was very solidly in that mindset of i don't want to die! as a child. he wanted to live and so he screamed every thing he could at that hollow, all of his defiance and will to live.what happened next was not something he had expected.a man was there between himself and the hollow, a man with a fall of long blonde hair and a blade in his hand, other shinigami with him as they worked to take the beast down. aizen was frozen for those seconds it took for the hollow to be slain and then he was up again, seeking to run, to escape, for he had seen shinigami before and he had seen them lose to hollows too. one of the men in the squad managed to grab him and aizen's response was to bite him, working to get free with all the tenacity of a feral kitten and when the man's grasp loosened enough, he was racing off as swiftly as any young deer to vanish into the forests of the district he had encountered hirako shinji for the first time within. it was a lower numbered district, a fortieth, but he did not know this for years upon years.at last, aizen found his way to the seireitei and found his way into the academy where he was admitted without much issue. there were a few eyebrows raised due to the inherent strength aizen possessed but he had learned a vague sort of rudimentary control over it at that point in time and thusly did not truly stand out amongst others.during his time at the academy, aizen found himself safe and learned control while working on polishing himself up due to the fact that there were those who came from lower-numbered rukongai districts as well as those of noble houses that saw his rough mouth and rough manners as something unrefined. so he chose to begin to work on himself, becoming soft-spoken, gentle, seeking to try and form bonds with others but there was always something a little strange to be found about the boy with bright brown eyes. it was also at the academy that aizen committed his first murders of two teachers. he had heard rumors that they were abusing their power where certain students were concerned, using it for those things which were ever spoken of in hushed tones to ensure no one would come forward. he listened -- he learned -- and he made sure the rumors were true.and then, quite simply, aizen made them disappear.these years were also during the tail end of the quincy purges and as such, students were expected to learn fast and learn quickly and aizen was both a fast and competent learner. he graduated from the academy within four years and before the day he graduated, he found himself once again seeing a man with long blonde hair and cool distant eyes which drew his attention immediately. it was the same shinigami who had saved him years ago from the hollow and while part of aizen wanted to go thank him, he found himself frozen at that point in time, tongue tied and unable to go do so. sometimes he wished he had done that, years later. but he learned that the man belonged to the fifth division and so aizen chosen his division in kind, with no alternatives nor backups at hand for himself. he wanted to join the fifth, to meet that man, to study him.aizen rose quickly through the ranks once he joined the fifth division due to attrition rates during the twilight years of the purges and his own competence until he was at last fifth seat in the chain-of-command. he became lieutenant one day in an almost lackadaisical manner for shinji had been captain of the fifth for some time by that point and aizen always found himself watching the man whenever he was around. but it was with a scrawled letter, a nervous junior officer to deliver it, and the old man third seat to supervise, that he discovered his sudden elevation from fifth seat to lieutenant. it confused him, baffled him, but aizen adapted very quickly and took to his new duties with rapid ease, finding himself content to be where he was. and, for a time, it was good how it was. for a time.yet, things changed. namely -- the dynamic between hirako shinji and aizen sousuke. and, more than that, aizen's slowly growing bitterness with the system of the seireitei by and large. he had not expected the system to be how it was and the disillusionment he underwent took decades to undergo, to build up. and when he finally understood how flawed the system was, it occurred in rapid succession. a dream of understanding when it came to the sheer indifference of the soul king towards the system by and large, and a meeting with a young man whose friend had been murdered by her husband -- a man who suffered no repercussions -- were truly the last and final straws for him. but it was also the treatment at the hands of his own captain which was also a part of this.aizen sousuke was never sure of how many people might have guessed that he and shinji had become intimate and he did not seek to advertise it. but he craved closeness to the blonde man and had willingly fallen into his bed, understanding the power dynamic was not truly the healthiest nor how he was treated was the best. yet, at the start of it, he had hope that things would change. his loneliness made it easy for him to obey when shinji's fingers might curl in a certain way, when the older man issued commands, and from time to time he saw what seemed to be affection for him or tenderness in his captain -- only for it to be yanked back and distance more overt than before put between them. for from the start, shinji had ever sought to keep him at arm's length, yet close enough to also attempt to keep an eye on him. it was a convoluted thing, their relationship, yet they both worked well together, none could deny that much.but the bitterness of understanding that no matter what he did, no matter how hard he worked, no matter what he said -- hirako shinji would never see him. never let him in. and in the slow drawing of the decade or two before aizen turned upon his captain, forcing him and others into exile, he found the catalyst within the archives of the Daireishokairou that would change his life, his captain's life, the life of ichimaru gin and matsuomoto rangiku and many others -- he discovered urahara kisuke's research into the hogyoku and an idea began to form. an idea which did not begin to bear fruit, however, until after his encounter with tosen kaname and the final piece of his jaded acceptance of the seireitei never changing was put into place. in the wake of hearing what had happened to kaname's friend, aizen understood one thing.the system had to be changed.so it was that his own research began. research that unknowingly would shape dozens of lives. research that led him to understand that the throne of the heavens was vacant. if it was not vacant -- then surely, surely, things would become better.and then, one moonlit night, he fed the old third seat to a silver-haired boy, smiling at his lethality, unknowing of the wheels of fate which had been set into motion, of a gun which had been fired and the bullet would not strike home until a hundred and ten years later. all he knew was that in those minutes of meeting ichimaru gin for the first time, he felt something click within himself. as if this meeting was supposed to happen. to take place. somehow, in one way or another, they would both be intrinsic to each other.and from there, everything was set into motion.

PERSONALITY

aizen sousuke is a man who is both at once seemingly able to be easily comprehended -- and a man who is nuanced and complicated in equal measure. affable at a glance, this equally conceals a secretive nature and the capability for deceit which he displays very easily when he must for his own purposes.above all over things, however, aizen is a man who thrives upon being polite. he takes great pride in courtesy and will extend it to everyone, even people he dislikes intensely, because he sees no reason to be rude. this is not to say that aizen is incapable of rudeness; in matter of fact, he is quite skilled at twisting an insult into place if he wishes in the public eye or even being outright contemptuous of someone when in private and around someone he can be relaxed around. but by and large, he favors the art of polite nature above all others and he responds very well to politeness in return from others. he does not expect it from those who have been impacted by what he has done in his lifetime, but he will extend it to them in kind.however, the thing one must remember about aizen sousuke is that he is polite and civil by choice. he is not above displays of temper and he is not above executing that same display of temper either. by and large, his temper tends to be something which is kept restrained and very seldom does it ever come into view when aroused -- yet it can and does display itself from time to time. aizen does not see any reason, however, to use force of temper to convey his wishes and desires. there is no point in that. but he does understand, especially when he comes to rule in las noches, that displays of temper may be necessitated from time to time. when dealing with his espada and other hollows, aizen is far quicker to show his teeth to remind them that he is the most dangerous thing there.yet, in contrast to this, he is also capable of displaying a remarkable degree of tenderness and care unto others. he can be quite supportive of the endeavors of those that come to him for advice and, indeed, during his term as head of the gobantai, aizen oversaw more than a few shinigami pursuing their goals and ambitions to become more than they were, wishing them well in their efforts and ensuring that they would be supported as they needed. he very much worked hard to keep the division running smoothly and was a man considered a bit of a workaholic ( alright, a lot of a workaholic ) by others without a doubt. and indeed, before the exile his captain was forced into by aizen's own hands, it was joked that it was aizen who really ran the division due to his care and diligence.only one person is allowed to be irreverent with him, to challenge him, and to be bold as he pleases where aizen sousuke is concerned and that is the man aizen treats as his co-commander, as his equal, and whom he will always name his fukutaichou -- ichimaru gin. gin is, however, the singular exception to aizen's tolerance of such behaviors and not the rule. anyone else attempting to behave towards aizen the way that gin does will find themselves very firmly shut down by the brunet in response. he does not tolerate disrespect very easily, if at all, and will gladly make a point of reminding others that respect will win them far more than such an attitude will from him. gin is unique and anyone observing how aizen and gin behave around one another will understand the uniqueness belongs to gin alone.yet, gin has helped inspire a healthy dose of sarcasm and snarking capabilities within aizen over the years and if he's absolutely fed up, it's not uncommon for such mannerisms to show themselves when he's feeling utterly frustrated with one individual or another. aizen does not overly advertise the capability of being snarky, but it has been known to slip out when he's dealing with someone who can be a handful or will not give him respect as a person or as an authority. or when he's especially tired.additionally, aizen is capable of displaying a calm cruelty for the sake of a larger goal when he must do so. such examples include his taunting of hitsugaya toshiro when aizen is executing his defection, choosing to simply imply of what could have happened had he been a few minutes later along with a suggestion of how he should have simply chopped momo up so she would have been unrecognizable. this was for no purpose other than to rattle the younger captain and give him something to consider. boasting, too, is often shot down by aizen. he does not look upon it favorably, nor does he appreciate being shouted at. some might try to claim aizen's own words as boasting but they are not. they are, quite simply, truth. he speaks what he believes quite solidly and will keep to what he has spoken very neatly.after Deicide, however, much of aizen sousuke's personality has changed; he has become withdrawn and far quieter, failing or refusing to speak up on more than one occasion and showing a genuine disinterest in what is going on to the point of kyoraku shunsui, now soutaichou, having to force him into exiting muken in order to provide his assistance unto the seireitei in defense of it. it could easily be said that aizen's personality has become dissociative; in addition to that, he has expressed, very clearly, a subtle but very profound wish to die. it was not so overt as his saying so -- but he has proclaimed to shunsui that, in aizen's own words, "if you want to kill me, now is the best time to do so." in the wake of aizen being attacked by a quincy.he is also far more prone to showing rapid swings of mood or outright brushing aside statements others make about him without attempting to deny or confirm the words they put upon him. there is no need to do so, in his own opinion, and aizen chooses to simply allow others to believe what they wish of him in the wake of Deicide. he is a man decidedly nuanced and with a profound disparity between himself and others in personality. to get close to him is a difficult task and to be invited into that confidence is rarer still. very few people have ever been invited to see all the facets of aizen sousuke -- three which can be named -- and he shows no willingness to do anything more as of the end of the blood war.

APPEARANCE

aizen is a man who stands tall and broad when compared against many others and who is, by all essence, quite attractive.with his soft brown hair that was once left to curl around his features and those melting brown eyes so often framed by his glasses, the shinigami very much stood out in the eyes of many during his days as lieutenant and then later as captain. his features could always be considered angular in appearance, with sloping planes. very constantly is his mouth drawn into a smile, with full lips of a soft pink to be discovered there beneath a long, straight nose that shows very little sign of ever having been broken in his time as a military man who has from time to time gotten into brawls of one nature or another.tall, as stated before, aizen is also broad of frame with large shoulders that took him years to grow into by anyone's guess, a wide chest tapering down into narrow hips in evidence if one knows what it is that they're seeking. with large hands and powerful looking wrists, he displays no signs of his childhood periods of malnutrition due to growing up with the wild survival of the rukongai beating at him daily. his fingers are long and strong in appearance, his palms long which somehow reduces their broadness to a deceptive state, with heavy knuckles to be found when those hands become fists.concealed beneath the layers of clothing that he wears is a physique which is almost perfectly proportioned. while no musclebound oaf, aizen does fall under the description of being akin to rippling with muscle. not too large, not too slim, he bears a neatness of power in terms of the physical sense, with muscle not overtly defined unless he has been working physically for some time not obvious at first glance. his skin is very nearly hairless, with wisps of dark hairs to be found here and there upon his body, a slight dusting upon forearm and calf alike to be discerned along with a trailing stream of rich mocha starting midway below his navel and easing to his groin.his skin is gently tanned and not unscarred. indeed, aizen had a tendency to be rather reckless when it came to putting himself between shinji and attacks aimed for his captain and the most extensive patch of scars he has from that point in time are burn scars. they are well and truly faded by the time of the winter war, with only faint changes in the texture on the skin of his back to be found. other scars litter his body including a fresh one across his right bicep which was acquired during the winter war, but there is no mark to be found from the deathblow inflicted upon him by the bite of kamishini no yari.aizen is also a man who, despite outwards presentation, does not tend to spend much time before mirrors. in truth, aizen has a very pronounced disregard for himself and his own appearance in some ways and does not seek to be overly blatant with himself but aizen can and does clean up very nicely when given an occasion to do so.when he was roaming around the rukongai, aizen tended to wear whatever he could get his hands upon, so it was not uncommon for him to have a very ragged appearance at that point in time with very unruly hair. it was not until he reached the academy that aizen began to truly make sure he looked neat and presentable, which was the only thing which really mattered to him at that point in time. as a boy, he was all elbows and knees as well, thin and spindly until he began to grow. indeed, when he was finally placed into the fifth division and with a steady diet as well as refinement of himself and his power, aizen began to grow and grow rapidly and it was very common for his shihakusho to seem not large enough with how much arm and ankle tended to show during that point in time.while just a seated officer, aizen wore the standard shinigami uniform with the addition of the badge when he became shinji's lieutenant which was ever worn upon his left arm out of his own preference, the wooden plaque polished every week by him with beeswax until it seemed ready to glow. the only addition to his uniform at that time, from his days in the academy, was a pair of black-rimmed glasses which helped to soften his features, especially with those curling strands of hair left to fall about his face. when he became the captain of the gobantai following the exile, aizen's outfit changed to include the white haori bearing the kanji of the fifth division ( ไบ” ) stitched in black within the diamond. with long, voluminous sleeves, it always seemed a little large for him.following his defection, aizen's appearance changed -- but not overly drastically. he shed the shinigami uniform for robes of white outlined in black with black interiors beneath the pale fabric, black boots lined with silver, and a crimson obi with an intricate plate of golden metal often attached to the red sash. in addition, aizen no longer wears the glasses and his hair has become slicked back in appearance while a singular strand of hair serves as a flyaway that dangles in his face constantly. he has tried to tame that lock of hair. he has failed. this appearance is one that he has kept for months until the day of the winter war.following Deicide and his defeat, aizen is now covered in black material and seals whilst dwelling in muken. the body suit that he is made to wear wraps around his entire form from his neck to his feet and over that is an overcoat of sorts which hangs down to midcalf. his hair is still worn back, but the flyaway strand of hair seems to be missing as his hairstyle now appears some amalgamation between what he wore as a captain and his era as a rebel. lastly, his right eye and a fair portion of his right cheek - as well as his ear - are covered by the same material which wraps around his body. the bindings he wear are heavy and cold, should one ever become unraveled and picked up by another, with a vaguely adhesive sensation to be found. and beneath that eyepatch, aizen 's right eye has changed.the pool of former brown and white has become silver and purple in the way it looked following the ending of the chrysalis stage during his 'evolution' beyond shinigami and hollow. it is, truthfully, an unsettling thing to suddenly behold and aizen keeps the eyepatch in place so as not to have attention drawn to it if at all possible.finally -- the most distinctive feature to be found about him. the hogyoku. ever since the day of the winter war, it has been embedded in his chest, found at the bottom of his sternum and above his heart. it glows with its own inner light but does not flicker or pulse in time with his heartbeat. when shrouded in darkness, the glow is quite apparent while motes of light bounce around within it. there is no known way to separate aizen and the hogyoku, despite how he might wish otherwise. he finds it a cruel irony that he does not bear a scar from his death -- but perhaps the hogyoku is its own scar within his body.

ABILITIES

power.that is an accurate summation of aizen sousuke as a person -- he is power personified. he is power itself made manifest and he is a man without peer. only one person has ever stood at the pinnacle of aizen sousuke and his capabilities and that person worked to ensure he would ever be there to stand at the side of the man who named him co-commander. but it is power that defines aizen sousuke more truly than anything else. it is power which has shaped his entire life before he was even born. it was his power that killed his mother and he is aware of that, now, years later.when it comes to aizen and his reiatsu, there are many ways to describe it. he bleeds power when even in a sedate frame of mind and the air around him can seem quite warm, if somehow, still distant -- like the way a person might feel the warmth from the sun where it is bouncing from the wall of a nearby building. it is a diffuse heat, but perpetual. yet he is capable of bringing it down into near stillness if he needs to in order to hide himself if he does not feel up to using the veils of kyoka suigetsu to keep himself and others concealed.when it is actively flared, however, there is no denying that aizen's presence is intimidating. even when he was not being an active participant during the winter war, omaeda described aizen as being downright overwhelming while aizen was not yet making any overt display of himself and his capabilities. to be near aizen is to constantly be bathed within his power and the radius of how far it can extend is unmatched, for it can be felt for quite some distance away if one has a keen enough sense of being able to perceive such things.however, when aizen chooses to make his reiatsu apparent, then apparent it becomes. he is a master of manipulating the pressure and density of it to the point of being able to force others to freeze in place, fall to their knees, or even be unable to breathe until they outright faint. he demonstrated this easily upon more than one occasion, a luckless arrancar who reported to him coming under the weight of his displeasure before grimmjow jaegerjaques earned an equal display of aizen and his power. when made dense enough to manifest, the air is known to hum with a dull roar and acquire a visibly violet tint to it in those moments when he chooses to use it in such a way.upon the day of Deicide, aizen's power grew to such an extreme that he was able to be perceived in the realms of the world of the living as well as in hueco mundo in equal measure. even if the battle could not be 'seen', it was impossible to miss aizen and his power in those minutes when he faced off against kurosaki ichigo. before that point in time, aizen was destroying the spirits of humans that came too close to him and could see him with remarkable ease just from drawing close to them, which effectively killed them. this same density of power is apparent two years later when the bindings he wears in muken force his power to compress about his body instead of allowing it to breathe and expand freely.yet it is not only for his reiatsu which aizen needs to be feared.aizen's intellect is perhaps the most fearsome thing about him. he was capable of comprehending the research done by urahara kisuke when he stumbled upon it, as well as performing experimentation upon hollows and shinigami both without ever being caught. he is well-versed in tactics and strategy as well as the history of the seireitei and how best to respond when he chose to defect and later abducted inoue orihime. in addition to this, he was capable of making his own hogyoku as well as determining the best way in which it could be destroyed. aizen also discovered a way in which the ouken - the king's key - could be made and he came very close to succeeding in that goal at the climax of the winter war. he is skilled at planning things out to work to his advantage, anticipating responses several steps ahead of what others likely conceive of. indeed, some of his plans take months - even years - to be fulfilled.additionally, aizen is extremely adaptive to almost any given situation. he does not find setbacks to himself or to his plans anything to be worried over. indeed, the night when urahara kisuke and tsukibishi tessai arrived before he could fully carry out his own plans involving hirako shinji and the other visored could be completed and interrupted him, aizen very easily understood kisuke when he declared what he saw to be hollowification and simply used it as a confirmation of his own beliefs about that man. between kisuke's own experimentations and aizen's planning, he was able to ensure that kisuke and the visored would be exiled from the seireitei.this intellect is supplemented by his personal charisma and capability for manipulation. he managed to make everyone around him - with one exception when he was still but a lieutenant - believe that he was a capable and caring individual. how much of that was based off of deceit and how much of it was truth is all but impossible to determine. yet he is skilled at having others carry out his own desires while they think they are doing such a thing of their own accord. he is equally skilled at reading people within but minutes and adjusting his responses in order to provoke a response that will further his own goals with considerable ease. between his adaptive nature and his intellect and skills at manipulation, it is truly easy to proclaim that aizen is a master upon the field of battle.one of his more evocative talents lies with Kido. aizen has mastered all four of the shinigami arts of combat, being hakuda, zanjutsu, shunpo, and kido -- and his kido are tremendously impressive. he displayed a growing mastery of them a hundred and ten years before the winter war commenced on the night he turned upon his captain, blocking tessai's attack of Hiryuu Gekizoku Shinten Raihou with a chantless Danku which tessai proclaimed as impossible for a lieutenant. not only that, but the size and range of aizen's Danku was able to be seen extending several stories into the sky as a result of the backlash of tessai's hadou impacting aizen's protective bakudou. yet it is not just bakudou that aizen is skilled at but all measures of Kido.he is a master of it, to the point of displaying a chantless Kurohitsugi for the first time on the day he openly betrayed the seireitei when he used it against komamura saijin without restraint. he did comment, in reply to gin's teasing, that it was unwieldy and difficult to control. he later displayed the full chant and scope of the kurohitsugi's capabilities on the day he faced kurosaki ichigo, yet ichigo broke it with ease. two years later, aizen used his kurohitsugi again when attempting to break the chair he was bound into when he was removed from muken; the kurohitsugi he displayed on that day was several times the scale of the one he used against ichigo, to the point where kisuke proclaimed that aizen had become stronger while in muken.very seldom does aizen see the need to use any chant where kido are concerned and he has the skills to manipulate more than one together as he wishes. he knows every class of kido all the way to the 99th level, as displayed when he used goryu tenmetsu against yhwach without any chant whatsoever involved in controlling it. it could be argued that aizen does not need to use the chant in order to unleash the full might of the kido he has chosen to display against his opponent.however it would be foolish to think that aizen is limited to only kido in terms of offense. he is skilled at shunpo as well as his swordsmanship and hakuda as well, bearing mastery to each combative art taught to all shinigami. with his reiatsu able to negate all but the most powerful attacks brought to bear against him -- such as soifon's nigeki kessatsu -- aizen proclaims that battles between shinigami are all based upon reiatsu and he can crush her technique with ease.but when not using his reiatsu, aizen displays the ability to halt attacks with a bare hand on more than one occasion and can even take down shinigami of the captain class without any difficulty as well as survive a sacrificial hadou used by genryuusei shigekuni yamamoto - the 96th hadou, itto kaso - with barely any damage. not even a hollowified getsuga tensho affected him very much.furthermore, the events of Deicide have left him with an increase in power to the point where the bindings aizen wears are not meant to negate his power -- since that seems to be an impossibility as proclaimed by others, with mayuri claiming that he can control the level of the restraint via a gadget he displays to aizen -- but merely to keep it contained around himself. anyone who is not of the captain class risks burns and worse, the loss of limbs. indeed, one of the guards who attempted to restrain aizen before he sat in the chair lost half of his hands due to his own carelessness before the preparations were complete and that, thusly, made it clear that to draw near aizen was to risk such damage. because his power is forced to be contained around his body, this is something which anyone who gets near him may or may not suffer.more aftermath of Deicide is to be found as well in two things.the first of which is that aizen sousuke now bears his own inner Hollow. he keeps it well contained and has not sought to let it out in any fashion whatsoever. his willpower is prodigious enough to keep it contained and it is not something which he has yet to display to anyone else and it is unlikely that it will ever become something known about unless aizen is put into a situation where he reacts with extreme prejudice as a result.secondly, aizen now bears permanent powers of regeneration and immortality. it was his power of regeneration which allowed him to survive ichigo's strike of Mugetsu when he defeated aizen; indeed, ichigo saw first hand how the regeneration aizen has now was working on undoing all the damage that he sustained and, had kisuke's kido not activated when it had, it could have arguably undone all of the damage which aizen had sustained that day. this ability of aizen's came to the forefront once more when he aided ichigo and renji in their fight against yhwach, not being slowed down by the loss of his left arm nor by taking a blow to the chest which blew a hole through aizen's torso and left him impaled by yhwach's own blow. both his arm and the wound to his chest were recovered from and, indeed, did not seem to do anything more than inconvenience aizen.because aizen is a shinigami, anyone without the capacity to perceive spirits will be unable to see him. he finds this convenient, truth be told -- humans can be tedious.and one ability which he does not speak of openly is his capability to both smell and taste reiatsu. it is a form of synesthesia which he has had all of his life and there are certain people whose 'scent' has been imprinted upon him for lack of a better word that he will always be able to track. because of this ability, however, he does not tend to speak deeply of it or even indicate he is capable of it. he simply allows others to think that his capacity to keep track of them is because of his own heightened senses. whether or not he may ever confess to this ability is hard to determine. he does not ever feel the need to share the knowledge of it, but the right person who asks him the right questions may receive an answer for it.

ZANPAKUTOU

aizen's zanpakutou is a thing of dreadful power. the name of it is kyoka suigetsu ( ้ก่Šฑๆฐดๆœˆ -- flower in the mirror, moon on the water ) and it is a beautifully elegant weapon when it is able to be compared to others held by captain-class shinigami. a standard length katana, it does not stand out much beyond the coloration of the tsuka ( hilt ) and the shape of the tsuba ( hand guard ) from any other zanpakutou carried by any other captain or lieutenant within the gotei 13. it may not be voted the most beautiful, akin to rukia's sode no shirayki but it is an elegant weapon that somehow always seems to befit the man which carries the curving blade with considerable ease.gold rayskin is visible beneath teal green wrappings, the end of the hilt capped by brass while the tsuba matches the golden material visible in diamond-shaped openings in coloration. the tsuba itself is the most distinctive features of the katana which aizen sousuke uses with ease, being a hexagonal shape akin to that of a prism in shape. the two sides which frame the blade are elongated, then suddenly curve to join together in points, with four smaller sides forming points on either side of the tsuba. the blade itself is nondescript beyond being keenly honed carbon steel, born from the asauchi that aizen received long ago. for such a potent weapon, it does not show much in the way of being as dangerous as it is.like all shinigami who live long enough to do so, aizen has a profound bond with his zanpakutou, with his kyoka suigetsu. she has very often made to advise him, show him care and give advice -- and in the wake of Deicide, their bond is strained. but more than that is that, like all shinigami who form such a level of understanding with their zanpakutou, there comes the knowledge that she is an extension of his very soul. to touch kyoka suigetsu is not done lightly. very seldom is it that aizen would ever permit someone else to handle her and that does not change much over the years. only those he inimically trusts will ever be permitted to do such a thing.while a mere lieutenant, aizen wears his kyoka suigetsu upon his left hip in readiness to be drawn when he must have her close, tucked in beneath his obi securely. the coloration of the saya -- or scabbard -- is simple dark wood at that point in time. while she can be seen there at his hip, she is unobtrustive, as if not there to be paid heed to. during the years he comes a captain, however, aizen prefers to wear her out of sight, with the hilt protruding beneath the layer of his haori into visible view, some inches of it ready to be grasped and drawn when needed for any source of combat. it was nothing overt that he makes clear, the whole need to keep that zanpakutou out of view -- but it is simply a subtle display of his. as if to proclaim how non-threatening he is. after his defection from the gotei thirteen court guard squads, he wears his kyoka suigetsu entirely hidden beneath the jacket he adopts. a large square plate of metal rests upon the crimson obi aizen now favors decorated and embossed, while a sleeve of metal holds the scabbard close upon his left hip.yet, a zanpakutou is not just a blade. with enough time and training, any shinigami can master the art of swordsmanship. the next step of using one's zanpakutou is to unlock the Shikai, which aizen did at a fairly young age though it took him a fair amount of time to learn how to master it. yet, aizen's Shikai is a very unsettling thing when all is to be said and done. terrifying, even.the primary capability of aizen's zanpakutou is known as Kanzen Saimin ( ๅฎŒๅ…จๅ‚ฌ็œ , Complete Hypnosis ) and this capability of his gives him the ability to completely and utterly control all five senses of anyone who has seen the blade of his zanpakutou. there is nothing more required to fall beneath his shikai, but to also behold the blade at the moment of the release of aizen's Shikai. and, once someone has witnessed the activation of his Kanzen Saimin once, they will forever be influenced by that ability of aizen's. there is no way to break free of the influence of kanzen saimin but for one way: to touch the bared blade before the Shikai can once more be activated. however, only one other person apart from aizen knows the secret of this and that, in kind, was something which aizen learned at the same time as gin and confirmed later via jinzen. but once a person has witnessed his Kanzen Saimin, they will forever be able to be deceived with it.the only way to ever be truly immune to his Kanzen Saimin is to be blind, as displayed with Kaname Tosen, who followed aizen of his own accord. beyond that, no natural immunity to his ability of Total Hypnosis exists, though aizen is capable of choosing who may be left unaffected by the veils of his kyoka suigetsu as witnessed multiple times with gin. in addition to that, there is no time limit as to how long aizen can sustain his Kanzen Saimin. once it is activated, it can remain in place perpetually until he chooses to deactivate it at his own behest.the command to release his Kanzen Saimin is Kudakero ( (็ •ใ‘ใ‚, Shatter ) which also activates it as well. with it in place, aizen is capable of using his illusions to mask reiatsu, make people perceive things which are not there, proffer so-called body doubles via his illusion, and more. it is an ability with a massive array of potential and aizen has become very creative over the years in order to truly maximize all of its capabilities.in the wake of Deicide, kyoka suigetsu appears to crumble in the seconds leading up to aizen being sealed away by urahara kisuke's kido and in truth, that was due to several factors; in order to protect aizen from the wound he had inflicted upon himself, kyoka suigetsu attempted to shield him in the wake of the fading of ichimaru gin from his perception of the world. additionally, the hogyoku attempted to consume kyoka suigetsu and seemed to partially succeed in that moment. and the most potent underlying factor was aizen's own wish and desire to be normal. an unspoken desire, something held hidden within himself and forgotten about, but still there in his attempts to become merely just a regular shinigami in his attempts to shed his own power.but because of the amalgamation of the hogyoku and kyoka suigetsu, he is now able to use his kanzen saimin without the need for the release of his Shikai. this ability was demonstrated not once but twice during the Thousand Year Blood War, when aizen not only affected yhwach's perception of time passing but at the climactic battle when yhwach perceived him to be kurosaki ichigo. in addition, aizen can now manifest kyoka suigetsu at will, bringing the blade to bear in any battle at his own behest.there is one significant change, however, to kyoka suigetsu. this change was noted by yhwach himself and was not caused by him for aizen proved able to surpass even yhwach's Almighty. the blade of kyoka suigetsu is broken. this is a reflection of the damage aizen has done to himself with Deicide and the sheer power of the hurt he inflicted upon himself with what he did that day. while the cracks are not enough to truly shatter the blade, they do not appear in any hurry to heal after that point in time. only time will tell if they close up -- or if they grow fully and leave the blade shattering at last.

VERSES

[ verse : captain ] he is beloved and he is feared and he walks among his people armed with cold steel and kind words.here is the verse where we find aizen assuming the mantle of being the leader of the gobantai. this verse will range from those first painful months following his betrayal of hirako shinji up to the days preceding the reveal of his betrayal. he is left working behind the scenes with gin and kaname as his right and left hands, manipulating things but ever presenting to the world at large that he is merely a calm, gentle man. how much of that is a lie and how much the truth is unknown and this is the verse where such will be often explored, especially in terms of self-identity and in terms of manipulation. aizen's term as a captain will be fleshed out and expounded upon, showing what strings he pulled and how best he handled his time with the experiments he was performing with Hollow and with refining his own hogyoku. but, equally, there will be those moments where he will be as he seems; a strong and capable captain, ever with a smile and a kind word.how much of it remains a lie and a performance and how much is the truth of his actually being that person will be left up to another to decide. there is no set date to this verse, given that it encompasses a hundred years of aizen's life, but gin will always be a constant in this verse to some extent. expect plenty of thought and reflection on aizen's compatriot here.

[ verse: hueco mundo ] there is a massacre ready behind his eyes & war written on his body.this is my main verse. here we find aizen dwelling in the halls of las noches, planning to engage in his war upon the seireitei. here he walks without fear and gathers arrancar to his side. he has named the espada, from primera to diez and they are his to command. aizen is sharper when in las noches, colder, barring private interactions where he does not have to put up such a powerful front. and while he does not fear his espada, he does treat them with a careful respect and a caution all its own. they are powerful beasts, one and all. yet it is here, too, where he is left to craft new arrancar on a near daily basis, swelling the ranks of his army and preparing to commit his war. aizen knows that the seireitei is marshaling its forces in readiness to combat him and his plans to pull down the soul king, but he also knows there are more immediate matters which deserve his concern and attention. here, in this verse, things are starting to change where his relationships with gin and kaname are concerned.in this verse, aizen is allowed to be more open with gin in their relationship, whatever it may be -- but equally, gin is becoming sharper and far more focused upon him and the hogyouku alike. then, too, there is kaname who wishes for more strength. a promise aizen made to him long ago is reaching a nearness of fulfillment. there is much to be done -- and perhaps not enough time in which to see it all through.

[ verse: muken ] you said i killed you so haunt me & drive me mad; only do not leave me in the abyss where i cannot find you.this is the canon compliant verse where gin has perished in the wake of Deicide. aizen is entombed within Muken and he is left being comforted -- or tortured -- by the lingering illusion ne hallucination of ichimaru gin, provided to him through a combination of the hogyouku and kyoka suigetsu. aizen's genuinely quite dangerous in this verse above any other one. his mental and emotional stability are fragile and that means that any attempts to speak of gin's death can send him spiraling quickly into a fit of violence and worse. when aizen is left spiraling as a result of his instability being increased, the chances of destruction and self-destructive behavior become much more magnified. aizen does not wish to be reminded of what he's done. he's torturing himself well enough without anyone else's help. but if an outside influence tries to speak of what he's done in this verse, especially if it involves what he did to gin, the the chances of him losing himself to the urge to lash out at the source of that influence increase exponentially. tread warily, if you try to bring up gin to aizen in this verse. it may not end well.very rarely will we see gin as having survived in this verse. it can happen, but it isn't quite likely to be occurring in this one in particular. additionally, unless aizen has departed from the Seireitei in the wake of the Thousand Year Blood War, he remains in Muken by his own choice. this is his penance to bear. furthermore, sometimes the illusion of gin can be seen by others, sometimes not. this only adds to the eerie nature of aizen in this verse because he will carry on extended conversations with this illusion / hallucination of gin. whether or not anyone else sees gin is always chancy; it only emphasizes the loss of mental stability that aizen is suffering from.

[ verse: blood war ] as I cannot be the hero, let me be the monster, and lesson them in fear in place of love.the thousand year blood war and aizen's actions in it deserve its own verse. in this verse, aizen's time out of Muken can be expanded on from just a mere few hours to days, perhaps even weeks. he is aware of yhwach, dreadfully so, and aware of what changes have been wrought. even in the depths of Muken, aizen has been left to understand that the quincy have invaded, fulfilling a sense of a storm on the horizon that he had for over a hundred years. in this verse, he may or may not be joined by gin, depending on how canon compliant the setting is.if gin is at his side, aizen is forced to consider his actions more thoroughly, more carefully. with gin at his side, aizen will not hesitate to hold back to certain degrees. but if gin is no longer there, then aizen will be far more reckless and without any hesitation in that fashion. this verse could also be used in many ways to lead into various routes where aizen may do his best to die - or perhaps he will do his best to protect everyone that he can.

[ verse: fukutaichou ] it is still too early to believe; what's truly frightening is the betrayal you don't see.aizen sousuke is lieutenant to hirako shinji, taichou of the gobantai. in this verse, it ranges from the opening days of his time being the right hand to shinji to the period leading up prior to the time he took his captain down. here is where aizen meets tosen kaname and ichimaru gin. here, in this verse, aizen is left building the hogyouku. he is content to remain in his position as shinji's right hand, but equally there is the fact that this placement and his period of time with shinji does influence aizen in many, many ways. aizen goes through his disillusionment in this period of time, so depending on when interactions with him are set? he may be genuinely soft and gentle -- or he may be hiding something.

[ verse: soul king ] all the stars will fall from grace with your name engraved in the dust of their deaths.the winter war is over. aizen sousuke has won.here, in this verse, aizen sousuke has succeeded in becoming the new soul king. captains have fallen beneath the blade of kyoka suigetsu; komamura, soifon, toshiro. the final culmination of the defeat of the seireitei's forces upon that day came when aizen took the life of yamamoto shigekuni genryusai. he made attempts to spare those that he could, but kurosaki ichigo showed up too late to make his attempt at taking aizen down. ichimaru gin was too late in his strike to kill aizen. he moved through karakura town to create the ou-ken, though the effort from gin was still made all the same. but aizen survived and with gin still at his side, the zero squad was eliminated. the old refrain of kill them, gin fell from aizen's mouth. when they were gone and out of the way, aizen consumed his own father without hesitation, adding the power of the soul king to his own and ascending to become the new deity of the realms.when the quincy return in the prophecy pertaining to yhwach, they are left to discover that aizen sousuke is the god that they will be facing. and any god can be vengeful, even vicious. with gin as his right hand, with his bankai aimed at those who would be aizen's enemies, they are unstoppable. aizen will not let the quincy eradicate the shinigami. he is the god of the realms now -- it is his duty to protect what he has assumed the mantle for.

[ verse: vizard ] can you still feel the battles on my skin stitched across my back. am i rebuilding bone by fragile bone?in the years following the ending of the quincy purges, aizen sousuke was raised as captain of the gobantai and hirako shinji became his lieutenant. a young captain with an older and more experienced lieutenant was not truly a strange idea. aided in this was the fact that aizen was very fond of his lieutenant. however, this fondness blinded aizen to what shinji was doing and it was not until he found himself going to provide aid to a fellow captain that he found himself being pulled from his position by the older man who had placed together a plan that would see aizen being ousted from his role as head of the fifth division. it was only with the timely intervention of urahara kisuke that aizen and his companions survived what happened and for a hundred years, he found himself exiled from the seireitei and aware of the fact that sooner or later, shinji would make his move. only after shinji has been defeated does aizen finally return to the seireitei, resuming his position as captain of the gobantai and getting to know his new fukutaichou, hinamori momo. of course, it won't remain peaceful forever -- but he'll take what he can get.

[ verse : rogue ]this is the verse that ties in with godkiller's failure verse. in this verse, aizen and gin are reunited after aizen has been left to languish within Muken for two years and gin has spent those two years on the run himself. yet when the Blood War begins, when yamamoto shigekuni genryusei falls, the new soutaichou is forced to make some decisions. kyoraku shunsui has made a gamble upon allowing the two traitors to step back into working with one another. for two years, aizen has been left mourning gin. but in this verse, aizen and gin are also being made to understand the need for reconciliation with one another in order to survive what is to come. a greater threat than most forces aizen's hand in a way he never anticipated. when all is said and done, when the threat that has been placed before them is eradicated, aizen asks gin to go with him and to leave the seireitei behind. there is no reason for them to stay there. will it be to las noches that they go once more? or perhaps a home to be made out in the rukongai? whatever their decision, aizen wishes only to keep gin with him if he can help it. two years is two eternities too long.

[ verse: wanderer ] i need something different. I donโ€™t know what it is, but I need something new.this is the verse that ties in with godkiller's redemption verse. here is the verse where aizen sousuke stands with the reinstated ichimaru gin; gin who has once more become captain of the sanbantai. in this verse, once the Thousand Year Blood War has concluded, aizen is left to wish gin well and departs from the seireitei to go forth and wander once more through the rukongai of his childhood. this is the verse where he turns away from the seireitei to find himself, to relearn himself, and to understand where he went wrong. in this verse, he is eventually left becoming mentor to the daughter of gin and rangiku, something that both amuses and frustrates him due to keiko's own nature which comes to haunt aizen in its own fashion. he tolerates her rather well and accepts her with a quiet fondness rather quickly. but aizen is also upon his own once more, doing soul searching and seeking to find where he lost himself -- where he went wrong. but heaven help you if you try to harm keiko.it won't be just gin and rangiku that you will need to worry about.

[ verse: sternritter ] when the silence of absence deepensthis is the verse where aizen has chosen to side with yhwach. in this verse, aizen has been left to remain in Muken since the events of Deicide -- and he has not handled it very well. whether it was the profound grief from his losses, his own self-loathing for what his own loss of control wrought on that day, or simply the combination of the Kido which was part of his restraints and the profound isolation -- it has left aizen all but fully subsumed by his illusions to the point where he was starting to warp Muken around himself, changing it as a response to the grief he endured. when yhwach arrived, aizen accepted that offer to join him and departed Muken at his side. he simply watched as yamamoto fell beneath yhwach's blade and went with him and jugram haschwith to silbern. but he did not go alone. here, in this verse, aizen's memory has been altered, be it through his own suppression of what occurred during Deicide or from kyoka suigetsu's need to protect him.aizen is in full DENIAL about gin's death and the illusion of gin is a constant companion to him in this verse, moreso than any other one. he has been unable to let go of gin and his memory and his response to what happened has been to suppress the memories of such a traumatic event. this is a verse where others are far more likely to behold that illusion which is, unknown to all including aizen himself, simply proof of how UNSTABLE AIZEN IS IN THIS VERSE. he treats this illusion as if it were alive, speaking with it, talking to it, and he will insist that gin is indeed alive and there with him. for the most part, aizen is very much as he was prior to the events of the winter war; he exudes the same calm courteousness, he displays that keen mental acumen, he shows that he is still perceptive as ever - but do not be fooled. he is truly all but lost to this madness and grief which saturates him and he is, as stated, unstable. he is quite dangerous and far more willing than not to become disproportionately violent and retaliatory as a result of this. trying to tell him that gin is dead or pull him from that state of denial WILL NOT END WELL FOR ANYONE ELSE. additionally, aizen refused any schrift from yhwach, refused to let himself be bound to him in that regard.all that aizen wants, in a subconscious way, is to see the rest of the world burn to match his grief over what has happened. he has nothing to live for and nothing that he cares about. he is self-destructive and full of tragedy. and there is no way to pull him from it for he refuses to acknowledge that he is, indeed, full of this pain. he is in denial -- and there is no way out of it for him.

RELATIONSHIPS

ICHIMARU GINIchimaru Gin is the right hand to Aizen Sousuke. he is intimate, confidant, companion, friend --- and more. for over a hundred years, they have been intertwined with one another's lives, from before they even met. trying to find a clear-cut definition of exactly what they are to one another is nigh impossible, for aizen and gin have never tried to put into words what exactly the outline of their relationship with each other is, to themselves or to anyone else. or, for that matter, to attempt to define it at all and in any reliable fashion. they are who they are to one another. compatriots. traitors.and betrayer of trust to each other.it is at gin's feet that the death of aizen sousuke can be laid; it is at his feet that aizen fell upon the day of Deicide. their relationship has grown organically and for all that they bicker and snark at one another, they are also compoundingly lethal together. theirs is a dynamic that has no set definition and gin has become to eclipse and predominate much of aizen's world view and way of thinking. it could rightfully be said that ichimaru gin is the one and only person who is left to hold the leash of aizen sousuke. he can control him --- and he can let him loose. this works only by the sake of aizen wishing for that leash to remain in place. if the day ever comes when he wishes to slip free of it, then he shall do so and there will be no chance to stop it from happening. no one will ever have the control or command over aizen that gin does and he will not appreciate anyone else making any attempt to try doing so. what they have is theirs and trying to make any move to step into gin's place will never be welcomed by aizen. he will put any attempts to do so down and he will do it without hesitation and in a very harsh fashion.in a canon compliant verse, aizen is left to mourn the loss of gin, feeling the wound of his own loss of self-control so deeply that there will never be any chance of his potentially being able to recover from it. gin is, by closest definition, soulmate to aizen sousuke. he will never recover from what he has done and he has no wish to recover either. he will not make any effort to deny what he has done and he will admit it freely and without hesitation or thought to save face in truth. he has no desire to recover. what he did has ruined him wholly and utterly in truth. there is no desire in him to heal. there is no desire in him to cope with what occurred. he wishes merely to carry the memory of ichimaru gin within his very heart and soul.in the failure!verse, however, there is a potential for aizen and gin to pick up the shattered pieces of their lives. there is a chance to heal and to grow from what has happened. or ... perhaps not. either way, aizen will have to own up to what has happened -- he cannot turn away from what he has done.
